This morning I decided to try a spinning class @ my local gym to cross train with my running plans. HOLY CRAP does it kick ass! For those of you who are not sure what it is, spinning is a high intensity stationary bike aerobics class. As the class goes, the instructor tells you the positions to move to on your bike and to highten or lower the intensity. You go at a pace that you are comfortable with. IMO, spinning seems like it's going to work well as a cross training activity. I hi...

Greetings once again JU! I think I'm going to give this blogging thing another go, except this time around I'm going to keep more of a "log", but that doesn't mean I still won't post the occasional nonesense article. Let me explain.... In my great year and several months off I've really taken to running, which for me, since being in a terrible car wreck in '02 is quite a feat. Ever since then my left knee always gave me trouble whenever I tried to run. Anways, A little over a year ...

As far as religion goes, I'm pretty easy going. I can see most sides of the story. I get Christianity, I am down with the Jewish comminity, and Buddah is my homeboy. I can even see the Athiest/Agnostic side of the coin. But Scientology, I don't buy it. Any religion that believes that A) depression is brought on by alien spirits, and was created by a science fiction writer just seems like a bunch of horse shit to me. I don't even know if I would consider it a religion. Actuall...

As I woke up this morning, I had this odd gut sensation that I needed to pluck my eyebrows right then and there. I got up, walked to the bathroom, found the tweezers, and began plucking away. As many women (and some men) know, this is not a pleasurable experience. It was like I couldn't even tell I was sitting there and torturing myself. Maybe I've developed some sort of eyebrow plucking tollerance. Maybe the planets were alligned right then and there so that this would make the process ...

Did anyone get my Elvis Costello pun? Pretty lame, huhh... It seems like I'm always saying, wow...it's been a long time, or long time, no write...I've just been so freakin busy! I ended up taking the new job in Queens. It's a lot of fun. I'm teaching elementary chorus, music for special learners, and some guitar classes. I'm really enjoying myself and taking the mistakes and good things with me that I've learned from my other job, and applying them towards success in the classroom...

**Inspired by Shovelheat** Okay JU...I want to know. What Christmas is your most memorable Christmas? Last year would have to be mine. Hardin and I spent the day in NYC. We stopped at a bar and had bailey's and hot cocoa. We then went to Ground Zero and over the Brooklyn Bridge. On the way home it started to snow. The second we got home we started to prepare Christmas Dinner. We had steak, mashed potatoes, a salad, and ice cream. It was special because it was our first Chris...

Today is the one year anniversary of my marriage to Hardin. Boy does time fly! I couldn't ask for a better person to spend my life with. Since the moment we met back in 2001, I knew he was special. He did one thing that no one else had ever done before. He taught me how to laugh. Humility is very important in life. Being able to laugh at yourself, and not others (well, sometimes at others...j/k), is a great lesson to be learned. You can never take yourself too seriously. Before I...

I believe the mind is a beautiful thing and a precious entity to waste. Each and every day I strive to be as smart as I possibly can. I am by no means Albert Einstein. I am a reader, an artist, and a free thinker. If I do not know something, I do not pretend to know it, but I do look it up. I encourage my students to do the same. If they do not know the answer to something, I make them look for the answer themselves. I believe that the beauty of knowledge lies within the process of lea...
