Last night Hardin and I were flipping through the channels and came across "Driven: Green Day" on Vh1. Being fans of Green Day, we couldn't miss it, so we sat on the futon and began watching. Of course, it was your regular "rags to riches punkrawk everyone hates you because you sold out" kind of story, but I still found it rather intriguing. After watching this, I have come to the conclusion that A) Being in a band tests numerous facets of your life musically, emotionally, and mentally...

I have decided that 24 is going to be the year of me. It's time to make time in the day for me and the things I want to do. It's about taking walks on the beach on my days off, going shopping when I have extra money, and getting a gym membership this fall (I am sick of my makeshift step aerobics routine!). It's also about my personal relationships and not pushing them to the wayside behind my "budding career". It's about snuggling in bed with my husband before work and at the end of ...

What they did to England was sick. What they did to us was sick. What they are doing to the world is sick What is wrong with the world. My heart goes out to London.

Has anybody noticed that after a high, a low isn't too far behind? I had a great weekend. I went back to Ohio to visit friends and family over fourth of July. As always, Hardin and I went out to lunch with my Grandpa (Who's 91---just a little tidbit of info), my parents, brother, his fiance, and my neice. It was just nice to have a feeling of family. It was probably the first time in weeks that Hardin and I were able to sit around a table and have a decent meal without having three ...

I started taking the pill over five years ago due to painful, heavy periods, caused by a cyst on my right ovary. At first it was wonderful because I had a "normal" period every month with little to no cramping. I thought that it was the miracle drug. Now, I'm not so sure. I think the pill has made my hormones go crazy. When I first started taking it, I did notice VERY irratic mood swings. Even though they have leveled off, it seems like at least one week out of the month, I just loo...

Okay, maybe this article is not about understanding me, "per se," but I have always been interested in figuring out what exacty lurks behind the lyrics of the song, "Alison," by Elvis Costello. My thoughts are in parenthesis Oh it's so funny to be seeing you after so long, girl. And with the way you look I understand that you are not impressed. (Elvis unexpectedly runs into Alison, his former love, and she acts aloof, yet meloncoly) But I heard you let that little friend of ...

***Warning*** Lofty topics discussed here....Some rambling may occur. As many of us have read, Dharma has been posting articles on beliefs and spirituality. These articles have really been making me step back, and think about what I truly believe. Yesterday, in response to her article on the Bible, she was curious to know my beliefs and if I believed in God. After posting a semi-generic overview on her blog, I had a long conversation with Hardin about God and creation, and now I am ...

As I was doing my morning crunches, a newsbrief stated that there had been a helicopter crash in Iraq this morning and seventeen Americans are missing. Last night I decided to give W a clean slate and hoped he would be able to shed some light on our global situation. Once again, the bulb proved to be rather dim. I found his speech to be more of the same old cock waving jargon. My heart goes out to the friends and families of our troops. Bring our men and women home. We have no busi...

For the past two days I have been waking up around 4 am, bright eyed, bushy tailed, and ready to face my day. I guess this wouldn't be a problem, but being that I fell asleep right around 10:45 for the past two nights it seems to create a lack of sleep. I am trying to figure out what is the culprit of this behavior. Last night I... Exercised in the evening, as oppose to in the morning had a yogurt after 9 crashed out for 20 minutes right after South Park and the night before I.....
