A day in the life of an Ohioan turned New Yorker

Wow, have I missed JU. So what's been going on here? Have I missed any good drama...or do i even want to know? What is new with everyone? Here's some things that are going on with me....

Hardin is away in Portugal until the 26th
I'm going to Ohio over Thanksgiving
Chrissy asked me to be in her wedding!
My friend Brian who had Leukemia passed away
I cut 8 inches off of my hair
I passed my 2 NY Certification Tests (one step away from certification!! whoohoo!!)
My apartment no longer leaks, but we are toying with the idea of moving to Queens next year and getting a dog (we figure if we're paying this much, we might as well be close to the city...).
I've seen most of New England now...

Ahh!! So much has been going on....anyways, what's been new with all of you??

Umm...
Dave's in Alabama at the NCO academy until right before christmas, but he's going to try and come home for thanksgiving.
I got my hair cut too and the chick that cut it screwed it up horribly.
I'm having a hard time with Dave being gone this time and I'll send you an email to tell you why.

I hate it when some stylists do not know how to cut short hair. Like you said in the article, those pieces need to be there!!! I'll be checking my inbox.

Good for you about the certifications! I know those are hard work, congrats!

8 inches off your hair? I'm about to do the same too! Haven't decided which style yet but I'm going for it!

I'm working on some new things - one of them trying to start a biz soon, keeping me occupied.

My kids are each a little taller...they're catching up to me!

I still have tons of books I'm trying to read...nothing new there!

I don't think I'm going to travel overseas for this year again...wah!

I'm getting a jump start on my kids Xmas list and plan on letting them donate a few. (they don't know that part yet...charity begins at home!

Dabe got booted, but Marcie is off probation. Tova7 has a great story going!  Cade!  Catch up on the first 15 chapters at her website!

And the beat goes on and on and on!

Thanks! I can't wait until it's official!!

Go for the haircut! i did a lot of online searching...just google short hair and see what comes up.

Sounds like things are going well!

Dr. Guy:
Wow...I guess it was the final straw with Dabe. Glad to hear Marcie is back.

I'll have to check out those other blogs!

Good to see you!

DG...Where did it say that dabe got booted? I must have missed that? Can you steer me in the right direction?

Glad to see you're back, Ali. HOw are the kids treating you?

My class is generally okay, I find myself burning out already though. We have conferences next week and then Thanksgiving, so there's no student days. That will be a welcome respite, although I'll be at school all weekend finishing report cards.

Nothing else is really new. No damned ring yet (argh!). Ryan got a job at the high school as a para supervising the ISS room. I'm thinking about maybe being a para next year instead of a teacher--and then going to get my master's. No more lesson plans for me, baby! We'll see how that goes, however.

Miss you mucho! Can't wait to read your next installment.

LW told me and I checked it out.  She trashed Karma once too many times I guess.  Karma has a very apt name too!

Marcie:
I think you'll miss the kids. You really have a talent.

He needs to get busy with the bling!

Dr. Guy:
Sounds like I've missed a lot! ahh!! I need to get caught up

Tex:
It's so good to hear from you! How's life?

Al...if I do the Para job I can still work with the kids, but I'll have time to do my school work too. I'm thinking about getting my master's in social work, so if I want to I can go and work in the school after I'm done. I'll also have the option to do some counseling or work in a hospital or a nursing home, or a hospice, too, if I'd like.

If nothing else, I'm goign to send my application in and hopefully be accepted, and I can defer my enrollment if I want to.
