A day in the life of an Ohioan turned New Yorker
and who cares if he is....

It all started with Batman and Robin. Then it was adressed with Bert and Ernie. Now it's...Spongebob and Patrick?!?!?! Yes folks, you have read it correctly. Christian Conservatives are now claiming that the children's cartoon Spongebob Squarepants promotes and accepts homosexuality. I would love to meet these people and ask them how in the world they are able to get all of this free time to sit around and generate the sexuality of cartoon characters. Are people really this afraid of homosexuality that now they are looking for it everywhere? Just let it rest. It's a freaking cartoon.

To use the language of the youth today, "How Gay."

Although spongebob seems to be 'Homosexual' - his 'gayness' is caused by rapid movements and emphasised gestures, all cartoons have this ; Cartoons are made with these, so it seems more comcial and stands out. So in theory, they could call any cartoon (modern) 'Gay'...

They annoy me, making asumptions about a non existant character...It promotes it how? - GRRR! by the way - great article.

Christian Conservatives

to refer to these idiots as Christian is just wrong.

In England, gay means happy. (Or am I just stuck in the past?)

To refer to them as conservatives is just wrong!  Can we say brownshirts on the right?

Being a youth, I've said gay a lot, but I think "pedophile" is a much more deserving term. I don't think gays deserve such a negative connotation, but pedophiles definitely fit the bill.

As for Spongebob and Patrick, that's just dumb and it really ruins it.

i don't think that gay , and i'm sure you agree with me on that one. I have many gay friends and they don't choose to be gay...they are just being who they are.

They need to leave spongebob and patrick alone!!

Cartoon characters that may actually be gay:

Big Gay Al - Southpark (I think this one is pretty much a lock.)
Buggs Bunny (Liked cross-dressing just a little too much)
Snagglepuss (Exit, stage right.)
Dudley Do Right (Nell was the beard.)
Woody Woodpecker (What's in a name?)

Bugs: good point on the cross dressing...hey...garth thought it was hot!
Snagglepuss: was this that cheetah looking thing in the laugh olympics? if so...he's in the same boat as big gay al!
Dudley Do Right: lol...never even thought about that....
Woody Woodpecker: I guess everything is in a name!
