Billions have been spent on the war.

President Bush only donated a mere 1.5 million dollars to relieve the victims of the Asian Tsunami.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?!?!?!?!?!

Your figures.  It was never that low.  It started at 15 m.  It is now up to 35 and they expect it to be over 1B before all is said and done.  probably more and definitely more with the private contributions.

That is all that matters....people are in need.

so true

And it is usually the people in poorer countries that need the most help, yet some lucky people in the richer countried criticize helping these people out.

$200 billion
$35 millon

Hard to make your case against the point Alison is trying to make with those figures.

There is something really, really screwed up about Bush's priorities. But, I didn't vote for him. I'm just trying to endure till we throw the bum out.

Please Quote the Clinton Statistics if you dare.

But I did not vote for the bum, so I am glad he is out.

Canada, with a population of 35 million has pledged $40 million, (appx. 33 million USD.), so far. We have done so because people are in need. That is all that matters....people are in need.

Money thrown into a sink hole does not fill it up.

Money spent to help people fills the hole.

Let us compare at the end when instead of spitting into a sink hole, it is spent to help the people.

Until then, throw what you want into the hole.  Everyone has one.

Huh? This is possibly the least cogent response I have ever seen.

And why would that be? Are we having trouble understanding it?

Who has criticized helping these people out? What people have criticized is how after we help, people bitch and moan that we don't do enough, and bitch and moan for more money. You might have no problem with somebody spitting in your face after you helped them because, in their opinion, you didn't help them enough, but some of us do.
