A day in the life of an Ohioan turned New Yorker
What's happening to me?!?!
Published on October 6, 2004 By alison watkins In Misc
Okay...so I got out of the shower this morning and noticed the saddest thing ever on the back of my right thigh. I have a cellulite dimple!! aHHH!! I'm only 23 how in the hell is this happening to me? I'm 5`2 and weigh about 125...so i'm not exactly a waif, but i'm definatley not overweight, either, so I have no idea where this is coming from. My roomate says once you hit your early mid twenties funny things start happening like things start to sag and droop. So ladies, I need your help...What can I do to get rid of and stop this dimpling madness??

Cellulite comes from fat poking through the stuff that covers it and holds it in (been out of school too long, can't remember what it's called). As far as I know you cannot get rid of it with creams or the like. Weight loss helps, although since you are already slender, you are probably stuck with it. Don't be hard on yourself, though . . . even celebs (whose job it is to look perfect) have cellulite. I don't think guys mind too much, either. They're so happy to see us naked that they don't notice things like cellulite.

You can't get rid of it with creams, and you can't get rid of it with exercise.  Losing weight can minimize it, but it won't go away totally. The only way to make it disappear is to get liposuction and have it vacumed out.

If it makes you feel any better, I had cellulite when I weiged 105 lbs earlier this year.  I also had it when I weighed 150 a couple of years ago, and I have it now I weigh 120 (I'm 5'2").  I think it first showed up when I ws in my early 20's...and your friend is partly right.  It's not your age that makes things sag and droop, it's a combination of age and having babies.

Tex is right, btw...I got great pleasure from looking at a recent 'Star' magazine and seeing who all had horrible cellulite (Donatella Versace has REALLY bad dimples....!!)

It doesn't matter how thin you are. I am 5'7 and 97 lbs, and I have started getting a bit on my thighs.... It sucks!
