A day in the life of an Ohioan turned New Yorker
Random Facts About yours Truly....

Since I am reletively new at this whole blogging thing, I have decided to dedicate this article to getting to know me....

Alison Watkins:

1) I am from Ohio (the fart of it all)--I grew up in Football Headquarters, Ohio (Canton). Here, we have a hall of fame dedicated to football's finest. It looks kind of like an OJ squeezer. Come check it out...There's all kinds of head statues of these football greats...when I was younger I stuck my finger up the nose of OJ Simpson's statue...aren't I funny? (not really)

2) I am about to graduate college!! YEah!--I have spent the last 5 1/2 years of my life at Kent State University (in Kent, Oh--yep the campus where the four people were killed). My majors are Music Performance and Music Education. I student Teach this fall and if everything goes all right, I will graduate in December!!!

3) I am musically inclined--as if you couldn't tell from #2--I play the (french--for the musically inept) horn. Music is wonderful for a number of reasons: cognative, psychomotor, and social reasons. I will describe each occurance.

Cognative: I guess it helped me pass a math test to be elligable for my teaching license.

Psychomotor: As I get older and play and listen to more music I don't trip over my own two feet as much as I used to...

Social: This is how I met my fiance...we were both in the college Orchestra.
(those were supposed to be sarcastic--if you want serious answers, visit menc.org)

4) I just got engaged over the weekend!! yeah!!

5) I am pretty short--5 foot two eyes of...errr..brown (not quite like the song).

6) I am a member of the John Kerry Campaign.

This is getting kind of boring, but if you want me to answer anything else, just ask.....

Welcome, it's great to meet another musician. Good luck with the student teaching and congrats on the engagement. My husband and I (both music majors) also met in school.
